KUDU Studios is an innovative, unconventional production house that aims to deliver creative and inspiring contents, telling unique and impactful stories. Our studios consists of film professionals, filmmakers and producers, and young leaders who are keen to make things happen.
With our contents, KUDU Studios does our best to contribute to social development and promote a healthy community, specifically working with children, youths, and marginalized groups in Cambodia. We believe they are the future of the country, who transform the society. Together with films and stories, KUDU Studios ensures a content platform for raising the voice of many.
MEET THE TEAM
Phally ngoeum
Lead Creative/Director
A female documentary filmmaker with more than 10 years of experience working locally and internationally. Trained by an Oscar-nominated filmmaker, Rithy Panh, she is able to perform all aspects of documentary film production independently and responsively from conceptualization to screen.
Chandara So
Producer/Line Producer
Graduate of two Master’s degrees in Entrepreneurship and Project Management equivalent to MBA from Lyon 2 and Lille University, France, Chandara So is a Film Producer and Line Producer from Cambodia. He started his career as Senior Film Commissioner at the Cambodia Film Commission in early 2010.
Sereisabda YOs
Communication Officer
Sabda has flourished in the project-based learning environment that enables her to nurture and enhance her passion for entrepreneurship by participating in competitions, events, volunteering, and internships. Through these experiences and knowledge, Sabda is willing to contribute positively to the community through her work.
Phearum Sorn
Communication Officer
Phearum was raised in a rural area of Cambodia, where he demonstrated an early passion for writing. He pursued a variety of initiatives during highschool year that fostered his appreciation for Cambodian culture. These projects not only enriched his cultural understanding but also enhanced his writing expertise.
Pulla Peat
Production Assistant
Nickname Fila, he’s a dedicated individual from the Cham minority group in Chhlong District, Kratie Province. With a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management, he has made a mark as a community freelance researcher. In 2023-2024, Fila was awarded a prestigious scholarship for a documentary film training program through the LUCE project at the Bophana Center, further enhancing his skills and passion for storytelling.
Chamnan PHoeurn
Assistant Cameraman
In 2023, Phoeurn joined Bophana Center as a film trainee, where he honed his skills in camera operation, sound, directing, and editing. His passion for directing and cinematography grew significantly during this training. Currently, Phoeurn is furthering his experience as an intern at KUDU Studios, serving as an Assistant Cameraman. His dedication to the craft of filmmaking continues to shape his career aspirations.
Vanheng Kim
Video Editor
Vanheng was one of the key figures behind a year-long documentary film project called Visualising the Mekong, run by the Bophana Centre. This project resulted in the production of 17 documentaries created by a group of 15 youths from Phnom Penh, Kandal, and Stung Treng provinces. At KUDU Studios, Vanheng is a video editor and assist in camera & drone operation work.
Chhay NOEM
Intern
Chhay has started to build his passion for filming at the very young age. He has experience in creating short films, documentaries, TV commercials, and event coverage. Additionally, he is skilled in operating cameras such as the SONY F55, SONY FX3, and ARRI ALEXA CLASSIC, as well as using Sound Devices for audio production. Chhay considers himself a hardworking and adaptable individual.
